Glossary
Warehouse and Vikbot terms explained
- AI vision
- Cameras combined with computer vision software that recognise, count and check physical items automatically, instead of people doing it by eye. How Vikbot works
- AI WMS
- A warehouse management system that updates stock only when AI cameras or scans verify the physical movement, so the system matches what is on the floor. Vikbot WMS
- Dispatch verification
- Checking every item loaded onto a truck against the dispatch order or pick list before it leaves, to stop wrong, short and excess shipments. Dispatch Tracker
- Loading dock verification
- Dispatch verification done at the dock door: each item is identified and checked against the invoice or pick list before it enters the truck. DockBot
- Pack-out verification
- Checking what goes into each box against the order before it is sealed, with a photo of the contents as a record. PackBot
- Short, excess and wrong shipments
- A short shipment has fewer items than ordered, an excess shipment has more, and a wrong shipment has items that were not ordered. Scanning and dispatch verification guide
- Pick list
